the moment when you figure out the significance of this scene after the season finale.
so i’m reblogging my own gif because i just wanted to address something here LOLOL: tarrlok didn’t know that amon was his brother when this was said, but that’s what makes this scene ironic. that one statement elicited such a reaction and then tarrlok ends up discovering that the man who he is working against is his own long-lost brother. i found this scene to be significant as someone who knows what happens at the end of the story. i’m a fan of cosmic irony, okay.

This completely screwed with my mind. The Lieutenant and EVERY SINGLE EQUALIST in that group is down for the count and out, but Amon is somehow able to stay on his feet. Not only that, he can move, after those first few resistant steps, he has absolutely no problem going after Tarrlok and taking his bending. Which in turn immediately frees everyone who was under the control of the Blood Bender. This to me, was absolutely insane and makes Amon an even more interesting and ultimately dangerous enemy for Korra. Tarrlok clearly knows what he’s doing and seeing someone resist his ability so easily is terrifying. This clearly shows Amon is in a league of his own, whether that is a unique bender, or an extremely advanced Chi-blocker is unclear. But I hope they go into this more in one of the three episodes left because it is an extremely interesting dynamic to explore.
